This slide gallery shows the original photo of the tiny (10 ft. tall) Ice Mountain and detail views of several of the other Icescapes in this collection which are derivative works created from this original photo.

Collections: Gallery Number Nine,
Icescapes by Debra Cortese, Nature Photography, Mixed Media, Limited Editions

Icescape #1 is one of the original photos that Debra Cortese took in March 2014 at Silver Heights Farm in Cochecton, NY. This frozen mountain of ice beckoned to Cortese to capture as many of the stunning ice shapes and contrasts as possible on this glorious early spring day. Many of the ICESCAPES are created from areas of this original photo.

This is the original photo that Debra used to create her ICESCAPES collection. It was taken with an iphone and in her usual style of studying images and nature patterns, she identified specific sections of this image which revealed the most intriguing contrasts to her and developed these into the IceScape images that you will see in this collection.

‘An Accidental Ice Mountain” is a landscape photo that was taken by Debra Cortese during an early spring day in 2013 on the site of Gorzynski’s Ornery Farm and Silver Heights Nursery in Cochecton Center, NY. Cortese recalls, “It was a crisp, clear spring day with twinkling snow melting in the bright sunlight. I could smell the fresh scent of spring and that, combined with the amazing contrast of colors on this temporary tiny mountain of ice were irresistible! I was beyond happy to have been there at that perfect moment in time when all of the elements of subject, light, iphone and opportunity aligned.”

An Accidental Ice Mountain is a limited edition of only 99 fine art, archival prints on paper. Each image is hand-signed and numbered by the artist.

This image area measures 12″x 16″.
